MSG in cocktails

Let’s enhance the cocktails with MSG (monosodium glutamate) and salt in Margarita, Negroni and Cuba Libre. Is there a difference and is it worth it?

Saline Solution

• 80 ml of Water
• 20 grams of Salt

MSG Solution

• 70 ml of Water
• 30 grams of Monosodium Glutamate

Margarita

• 2 oz. / 60 ml Tequila
• 1 oz. / 30 ml Triple sec / Cointreau
• ¾ oz. / 22 ml Lime juice
• 6-7 drops of Saline (or MSG) Solution

Negroni

• 1 part Dry Gin
• 1 part Campari or other Italian Bitter Liqueur
• 1 part Sweet Vermouth
• 6-7 drops of Saline (or MSG) Solution

Cuba Libre

• 1½ oz. / 45 ml White Rum
• ⅓ oz. / 10 ml Lime juice
• 3 oz. / 90 ml Cola
• 6-7 drops of Saline (or MSG) Solution
