I’m making Creme de cassis at home made from fresh blackcurrants grown by my mom. A simple recipe for blackcurrant liqueur and tasting the result in El Diablo cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (500 ml / 16 oz.) Vodka
  • 500 grams Black currants (or 400 grams of black currants and 100 grams of red currants)
  • 200 grams of Granulated sugar
  • 100 ml Water
  • Yield: ~650 ml

Recipe

El Diablo

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml Reposado Tequila
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Creme de Cassis
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Lime juice
  • 3 oz. / 90 ml Ginger beer
  • Garnish with a Lime wedge
