CORPSE REVIVER is a family of cocktails invented as a cure for hangover — so strong that it could supposedly revive a corpse. Not sure that it is the case but I am making 3 very different variations: classic Corpse Reviver No.1 & No.2 and a modern Tequila Corpse Reviver.
Ingredients
Corpse Reviver No.1
- 1 oz. / 30 ml Cognac or Brandy
- 1 oz. / 30 ml Calvados
- ½ oz. / 15 ml Sweet Vermouth
Corpse Reviver No.2
- ¾ oz. / 22 ml Gin
- ¾ oz. / 22 ml Lillet Blanc
- ¾ oz. / 22 ml Triple Sec
- ¾ oz. / 22 ml Lemon Juice
- Absinthe to rinse the glass
- Lemon peel for garnish
Tequila Corpse Reviver
- ¾ oz. / 22 ml Tequila
- ¾ oz. / 22 ml White Vermouth
- ½ oz. / 15 ml Triple sec
- ¾ oz. / 22 ml Lime juice
- ¼ oz. / 7 ml Orange juice
- 1 tsp. Absinthe
Alc./Vol. (approx.): 22% / 44° proof
