The Gin & Tonic might just be the greatest cocktail ever — refreshing, tart, and full of herbal complexity. But it doesn’t have to be basic! In this video, I’ll show you how to take your G&T to the next level with five creative and delicious variations: from garden-inspired flavors to bold combinations like cherry, tomato, and elderflower.

Ingredients

Garden Gin & Tonic

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml Gin
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml White Sweet Vermouth
  • 2 dashes Orange bitters
  • 1 dash Lavender syrup (optional)
  • Top with Tonic water
  • Garnish with Cucumber slice, Grapefruit wheel, Lemon wheel, Strawberry
  • Build in a Hurricane or Wine glass with ice, stir gently

Elderflower G&T

  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml Dry Gin
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Elderflower liqueur
  • 3 oz. / 90 ml Indian Tonic
  • 2 Lemon slices (1 muddled, 1 for garnish)
  • 1 Cucumber ribbon
  • Garnish with Mint and Lemon slice
  • Muddle lemon in a highball glass, add ice, build and stir lightly

Tomato G&T

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml Dry Gin
  • 1 tsp. / 5 ml Aperol (or other aperitivo)
  • 5–6 Cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 4 oz. / 120 ml Indian Tonic
  • Garnish with cherry tomatoes on a skewer
  • Build in a wine glass with ice, stir

Black Forest G&T

  • 2 oz. / 60 ml Dry Gin
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Cherry liqueur (e.g., Heering)
  • ¼ oz. / 7 ml Cocktail cherry syrup
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters (optional)
  • ¼ oz. / 7 ml Lime juice
  • 4 oz. / 120 ml Indian Tonic
  • Garnish with Cocktail cherry
  • Build in a highball glass with ice, stir

Soft Shock

  • ¾ oz. / 22 ml Gin
  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml Fino Sherry
  • ¾ oz. / 22 ml Lime juice
  • ¼ oz. / 7 ml Simple syrup
  • 5 Mint leaves
  • Top with Tonic
  • Garnish with Mint bouquet and Lime wheel
  • Shake, Collins glass with ice
