Half-Life 3 will soon be released (in our dreams), so I'm making cocktails based on Half-Life universe: Freeman (with whiskey), Vortigaunt (herbal and mysterious), icy and soulless Alliance, scientific “Sector C” and bold and passionate “Alyx”.
The Freeman
- 2 oz. / 60 ml Irish (or Rye) Whiskey
- ½ oz. / 15 ml Amaro
- ¼ oz. / 7 ml Maple Syrup
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
- Garnish with Orange peel
- Stir, Old-fashioned glass
Vortigaunt
- 1 oz. / 30 ml Gin
- 1 oz. / 30 ml Midori melon liqueur
- ½ oz. / 15 ml Lemon Juice
- ½ oz. / 15 ml Elderflower Liqueur
- Egg white (optional)
- Garnish with Absinthe spray
- Shake, Coupe glass
Combine Concoction
- 1½ oz. / 45 ml Rum, Gin or Vodka
- 1 oz. / 30 ml Blue Curacao
- ½ oz. / 15 ml Lemon Juice
- ½ oz. / 15 ml Simple Syrup
- Top with Tonic Water
- Garnish with Lemon spiral
- Shake, Highball glass with ice
Sector C
- 2 oz. / 60 ml Vodka
- ¾ oz. / 22 ml Dry Sherry (Fino or Manzanilla)
- ¼ oz. / 7 ml Honey Syrup (3:1)
- 2 dashes Orange Bitters
- 1 drop Saline solution
- Rinse with Islay Scotch
- Garnish with Orange twist
- Stir, Martini or Nick & Nora glass
Alyx’s Resistance
- 1½ oz. / 45 ml Reposado Tequila
- 0.5 oz. / 15 ml Lime Juice
- ½ oz. / 15 ml Passionfruit Syrup
- ¼ oz. / 7 ml Chili Syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
- Garnish with Dried chili
- Shake, Coupe or Rocks glass
Chili syrup
- 120 ml Wayer
- 120 grams Sugar
- 1 small chili, deseeded
