Not only Whiskey & Coke and Cuba Libre can be made with cola — it's a surprisingly versatile cocktail ingredient. In this video I'm mixing 5 unique Coca-Cola cocktails: from a spiced-up Long Island Iced Tea to a Death Star-inspired Jagermeister drink, these recipes prove that cola can be sophisticated, complex, and delicious.

Ingredients

Long Island Spiced Tea

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Vodka
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Gin
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Spiced Rum (instead of white rum)
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Tequila Reposado (instead of Tequila Blanco)
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Triple Sec
  • 1 oz. / 30 ml Lime Juice
  • ⅓ oz. / 10 ml Rich Simple Syrup (2:1)
  • Top with Coke
  • Garnish with a Lime wheel

Death Star

  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Jagermeister Scharf (ginger-infused)
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Tennessee Whiskey or Bourbon
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Vodka
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Triple Sec
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Lime Juice
  • ½ oz. / 15 ml Simple Syrup
  • 1-2 oz. / 30–60 ml Coke
  • Garnish with a lime wheel

Piscola

  • 2–2½ oz. / 60–75 ml Pisco
  • 1-2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Top up with Coke
  • Garnish with a Lime wheel

Colorado Bulldog

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml Coffee Liqueur
  • 1½ oz. / 45 ml Vodka
  • 2–3 oz. / 60–90 ml Coke (lightly carbonated)
  • 2 oz. / 60 ml Milk or Single cream
  • Stir before adding milk to prevent curdling
  • Garnish with an optional Maraschino cherry

Blacktail's Cuba Libre

  • 1 oz. / 30 ml Cuban Rum
  • 0.66 oz. / 20 ml Cola Reduction (or cola syrup)
  • 1 tsp. / 5 ml Fernet
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters (or Orinoco Bitters if available)
  • Stir with ice
  • Top up with 4 oz. / 120 ml Dry Sparkling Wine
  • Garnish with lemon zest
